The US Youth Futsal ID program identifies elite level players from around the country and gives them the opportunity to travel and compete internationally against teams from other countries.
The program is a unique opportunity for competitive level players to test their futsal skills against other players on a regional, national and international level.
The pinnacle of the ID program is the national ID event held in Kansas each July but the process starts with players attending one of 17 Regional ID events which are held throughout the country.
The Northern California Futsal ID event will be hosted by
Futsal Factory and will take place in Sacramento, California. Players attending the event will have the opportunity to spend the full weekend working with former US Mens Futsal National Team Coach and USYF Technical Director - Keith Tozer.
During each regional event participants are evaluated on a variety of individual, technical, physical and psychological areas.
Players who make it all the way will have the chance to play and become team mates with players from all over the country and from a variety of backgrounds. They will also have the unique experience of playing the sport they love internationally against players from other countries.
USYF National ID Event
After all 17 state ID events are completed the top participants from each location are invited to tryout for the US Youth Futsal National team.
This event is held each summer in Kansas and is an amazing experience for all participants involved with hundreds of futsal players from all over the nation coming together for the weekend to be coached and evaluated.
Players compete for three days in a variety of training activities and game situations, playing at an extremely high level under the scrutiny of the USYF national team coaches.
International Competition
After an extensive year long identification process squads are formed from the best of the best and the players fortunate enough to be selected will have the unique opportunity of traveling overseas to represent their country in competition against other international teams.
In previous years teams have traveled to Costa Rica, Columbia and Canada to test their skills against the best players in each country.
"The tenacity of the Colombian players was a characteristic that many of our players never get to experience at home," said U.S. Youth Futsal Director of Coaching Ty Stauffer. "Many Colombian youth are playing to make professional teams or escape circumstances. That kind of competition is invaluable to development."
Each international trip is not only a wonderful opportunity for players to develop their skills but is also a wonderful chance to experience life in a different culture. During each international trip futsal competition is combined with various cultural experiences to create a uniques experience which will stay with players for life.
